The Kids Last Day At Carson Elementary

Here is Shad with Ms. Modell. He thought she was so funny! She sure is good with 8 and 9 year-olds!
Mia's last day with Mrs. Burleson. What a wonderful and sweet teacher she is!

Eli with Mr. Kallead. I could not think of a better teacher for Eli. Mr. Kallead really brought out the student in Eli. He turned Eli into an obsessed reader. Eli now loves going to school every day. Thank you Mr. Kallead!

A sad but really fun goodbye!

I have never laughed so hard and so much! I sure am going to miss you girls! This was our last girl's night out before I left San Antonio.

Shad gets his Bobcat

After all this time, Shad finally gets his Bobcat. So he should have gotten it a long time ago but since I don't know what I'm doing, I never let the people know he had earned it. Such is the life of the first child. I'm sure glad he's a patient one!

Emmy and her cute new bow!

Look at how cute!

Soccer is over.....

We reached the end of the soccer season for Shad and the final practice consisted of a serious game between the kids and their parents. So, being the kind wife I am, I told Marcos he could take Shad to that practice and I would just stay home with the other kids. It looks like everyone was happy! I'm not sure who won though.

Nylia comes to visit

We were so excited to have Titi Nylia come to visit! She wasn't able to stay long but we had a lot of fun while she was here. She accomplished something I never thought possible...... She straightened Mia's hair. And then we went to the Alamo, River Walk, and out for ice cream. Can you believe that this was actually the first time I have ever gone into the Alamo!? It was so great to have her here!

The Big Debates!?

I am trying to be a good citizen and watch the vice-presidential debates so that I can really make an imformed decision on my voting. It is so frusturating! I listen to one side and next I listen to the other side say that everything that was just said was not true. And then it continues on in the reverse. What is the point in these debates if they are nothing but half truths, manipulated truths, or what I call just plain lies? I actually find both vice-presidential candidates to be quite likable if I met them casually on the street. But on the other hand I think you can't believe a word either one of them says. What happened to truth? They should not be allowed to talk about the opposing party at all. I think I should be able to make the rules. And if they lie or half-truth tell, they will get a small electric shock every time they do it. I'm not into torturing them. I just want it to be a little uncomfortable. It seems to work well with dogs.
